PURCHASING A PUPPY

We have several different options for purchasing a puppy.

Once you have decided on a puppy you will need to e-mail us at sally@doubledpuppies.com. Please give us your complete name, phone number, which puppy you are interested in and how you would like to pay. Sometimes it is best to call us at 719-962-3217 to verify the puppy you are looking at is still available.

Once we recieve your e-mail we will return a conformation e-mail to you. If for any reason the puppy has already been purchased we will let you know.

We currently take cash, credit cards (by phone) or can do Bank to Bank Wire Transfers. We are in the process of getting PayPal set up. Unfortunatully due to returned checks from a few buyers, we no longer take checks when you pick up your puppy.

If you would like to pay in cash, we will meet you in Seibert, CO or Kit Carson, CO; with your puppy.

If you are having your puppy shipped to you we require payment by Credit Card, PayPal or Bank Wire Transfer.

If you are purchasing a puppy that is not yet 8 weeks old, we require a deposit of half the purchase price to hold it. The remaining balance is due when you recieve or when we ship the puppy. You will recieve a Deposit and Hold Agreement from us. (Please see Deposit and Hold Agreement in Puppy Informaiton)

HEALTH GUARANTEE AND SALE CONTRACT

The following is a copy of our Health Guarantee and Sale Contract.

You will recieve the following Health Guarantee and Sale Contract when you recieve your puppy.

HEALTH GUARANTEE AND SALE CONTRACT

BUYER AGREES TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS OF SALE:
To keep the guarantee offered to you in force, you must have your puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian of your choice NO LATER THAN THREE (3) BUSINESS DAYS from the date of purchase, or if for any reason your paper work is mailed to you (if puppy was shipped), no later than (3) three business days after receipt of this Sale Contract and Health Guarantee. A diagnosis of coccidiosis, guardia, parasites, or any other type of bacterial infection does not render your puppy unhealthy. Your guarantee does not cover the above mentioned conditions or non life-threatening or temporary disorders, such as: hypoglycemia, uneven bites, undescended testicles, cherry eyes, inguinal or umbilical hernias, or patellar dislocations. No veterinarian fee charged for the initial exam or for any other veterinary services will be paid for by seller. If you neglect to take your puppy to a veterinarian for this examination, or to complete any necessary vaccinations, you will accept immediate and full responsibility for its health and this contract becomes null and void. Transferring this puppy for any reason renders this guarantee null and void.

Your puppy is also guaranteed for a full five (5) days from date of purchase against parvo, distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis and canine influenza. In the event your puppy does not pass the initial exam, or should be diagnosed with any non excluded condition, you must notify us IMMEDIATELY. The puppy and all related registration paperwork must be RETURNED to seller accompanied by a legibly written and signed veterinarian report, a complete history, a laboratory report, and/or pathology report from a licensed laboratory. If your puppy is diagnosed with PARVO, and IGG and IGM Blood Antibody Titer Test must be done, with the results furnished to us. We will replace your puppy with the first available puppy of equal quality, up to the purchase price. If the next puppy you are wanting is over the total purchase price paid, the remaning balance will be paid by purchaser. However, NO PART of the purchase price will be refunded. In addition, your puppy may be returned for up to one (1) year from the date of birth for all life-threatening or permanently debilitating hereditary and congenital disorders. Defects that can be attributable to other than congenital causes are NOT covered. At NO TIME will puppy be replaced without said puppy being returned to seller.

No guarantee is made as to ability to breed, show quality, size, coat quality, temperament or adaptability. We do not refund any money if your puppy does not "fit" into your lifestyle, or does not get along with your other dogs or animals, nor do we refund any money for any other reason including but not limited to moving, housing requirements, or your inability to take care of your puppy for any reason. Double D Puppies will accept any puppy or dog that has be previously sold to you to find it a new home. All paperwork, including current health record must accompany said puppy or dog when returned, and NO refund in part or full will be made. Any veterinarian's diagnosis shall be subject to confirmation by a veterinarian chosen by the seller. Buyer has read and understands the guarantee and acknowledges that NO CASH REFUND, in part or in full, will be given, nor will the seller be responsible for any veterinary expenses, or any other expenses incurred by the purchaser.

Please call any Veterinary that you are looking at doing business with to ask prices and to get information about their services. Each veterinarian has different prices for their services. Look for a vet like you do your own doctor, if they are not willing to talk to you and explain things to you so to that you can understand them, find a new vet. Double D Puppies does NOT pay ANY veterinary bills. It is your choice who you provide your puppy/dog with medical care. You can also ask them about any type of puppy or dog medical plan as well as insurance on your pet if you so desire. These are all at your own expence and Double D Puppies does not endorse or rebute any of them.

Buyer also agrees NOT to take the puppy into any pet stores or supply stores that allows puppies, any parks, including dog or puppy parks and be kept away from any other animal that has not been fully vaccinated and is current UNTIL your puppy is at least 16 weeks of age and competly current on all shots and dewormings. If you fail to do so, your contract is null and void, as your puppy can still pick up any type of virus or parasite from these places. Please have your new puppy competly vaccinated and healthy BEFORE you begin to take him places.

If you received this Contract by mail, for your guarantee to be in effect, it must be signed and returned to Double D Puppies with a postmarked date, no later than 7 business days after reciept. If you fail to sign and return it, all guarantees are null and void. WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO SPAY OR NEUTER YOUR PET.

DOUBLE D PUPPIES CURRENTLY ACCEPTS CASH, VISA, MASTERCARD, BANK WIRE TRANSFERS AND PAYPAL, AND IN SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES A PERSONAL CHECK. IF FOR ANY REASON, THE METHOD OF PAYMENT IS FRADULENT, IS RETURNED INSUFFICIENT FUNDS OR FOR ANY OTHER REASON THAT THE BUYERS MONEY IS NOT GOOD, BUYER WILL STILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FULL COST OF THE PUPPY AS WELL AS ANY AND ALL OTHER CHARGES INCURRED BY DOUBLE D PUPPIES DUE TO THE SELLERS NON-PAYMENT. BUYER WILL ALSO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LAWYER, COURT FEES OR COSTS INCURRED THEREIN BY DOUBLE D PUPPIES FOR RECOUPING ANY AND ALL COSTS FOR PUPPY, SHIPPING, BANK CHARGES, OR ANY OTHER CHARGES THAT PERTAIN TO A PUPPY SOLD BY DOUBLE D PUPPIES AS WELL AS COMPSATION FOR THE PLAIN HASSLE OF HAVING TO DEAL WITH THE MATTER.

VACCINATIONS AND WORMINGS

We give the following wormings and vaccinations to all of our puppies raised here (unless otherwise noted on specific puppy page):

One (1) - Kennel Cough Vaccination

 One (1) - Galaxy 5 Way Vaccination

One (1) - DPv Vaccination

3 Wormings.  We alternate every week with different wormers to attack different types of worms.

All of our shots and wormers are preventitives.

When you recieve your puppy you need to take him or her and have her checked out with your veterinarian.  They will then suggest when the next shots and wormings should be given.

You will recieve a copy of your puppys complete Medical Record to show your veterinarian as well.

If you purchase a puppy that is over 8 weeks old, that puppy will have been kept up on all additional shots and dewormings as well.

YOUR NEW PUPPY

When you take your new puppy home, this will be a new experience for her/him.  Patience and love will get you through the first weeks as your new puppy figures out what is accepted and what is not.

You will need to start to potty train your puppy as soon as it is brought home.  Transisition to a new home is easy on some puppies and hard on others.  Give your new pet a few hours to adjust to your home and family. Consistancy in potty training on the owners part is 80% of the success. There are several different methods to use or try. You may have to try several different methods to find the one that works for your new puppy. (Hopefully you will get lucky on the 1st try!) Don't get discouraged, stay focused and you both will get thru this. Make sure everyone in your family follows the same guidelines/rules for potty training your puppy as well.

Your new puppy may be a bit nervous at first and my be very courious about his new surroundings.  Be sure to show him where he should go potty as well as any crate or bed that you have for it.  Toys are a great way to keep your puppy occuppied when you don't have the time to spend with him and are much better for teething than your new shoes!  We highly suggest looking for and enrolling in pet obedience classes.  These are available for puppys and adult dogs.

Just wanted to contact you and tell you how amazing Sydney is doing. I have attached pics of him and he is so handsome. I think he is close to full grown right? 10 mos? Feb 8th is his bday so I am not sure when they stop growing for minis. He is perfect size now though so hopefully he wont get too much bigger. He is healthy and has had no issues so far. Is there something that this breed likes to chew on to keep him away from wood? I think he thinks he is part beaver or something. Anyway I wasnt sure what you recommended. I have tried toys and chews but he seems to just bury them and forget about them. lol Anyway if you have any suggestions then please pass them along to me :) Thanks.

Just wanted to give you the update on Sydney! He is doing great and has been to the vet on the date I promised.  If you ever have any questions about Sydney then you are more than welcome to contact Kerri Jackson DVM at Crossroads Vet Hosp.

Other than that he is amazing. I have taught him how to sit, shake, lay down (working on that), "spit it out" LOL  and he is crate trained and has only had one accident, I have him on Science Diet for puppies since that is what you had him on. he seems to be more fond of the Lamb and rice.

He has grown 1 lb since I have had him. I was wondering how big you think he will get?

Anyway you have this email and my number if you need to contact me.

Thank you so much for such a wonderful k-9 companion. :)

Thanks Again,
